The
Mountain . . .
is an
engagement center that provokes insight, inciting
humane, sustainable social change. Through its programs
and as a host site for groups, The Mountain fosters
leadership, transformation, meaningful action and
pluralism.
The Mountain
believes that motivated, informed, and skilled individuals
and groups who share a common purpose can transform
the culture, especially when people of all ages
are engaged. The Mountain, as a center for inquiry
and action, works to answer the question, “How
do we bring meaning, environmental sustainability,
and peacebuilding to the center of our society?”
An essential component of our peace effort is our
commitment to preserving The Mountain’s unique
ecosystem and modeling environmental sustainability.
We ground our work
in:
peacebuilding
skills • building community • social
consciousness • meaningful action •
life-long learning • hope
and joy • time in nature • embracing
pluralism • reflection • spirituality
• music and the arts
