| How
to Apply for the Volunteer Host Training
We
need to know about your skills and experience,
willingness to learn certain tasks, willingness
and ability to lead a program (without direct
Mountain staff support), and availability
to come and perform your duties, not only
this year but also in future years.
The
Program host is responsible for assisting
the Staff Liaison in ensuring we provide
all the services to meet the needs of the
group or function. Most hosts help with
weekend programs but we also need to support
some week-long programs. We ask hosts to
arrive here by 3:00 pm on the first day
and be able to stay through lunch on the
last day. Duties may include the following:
-
escorting guests to their lodging and
showing them particular features
-
assisting with announcements and orientation
-
setting up meeting rooms including audio-visual,
easels etc.
-
assisting our kitchen or housekeeping
staffs
-
assisting with activities (including driving
Mountain vehicles)
-
taking care of Social Time (setting up
beverage service, preparing popcorn
cleaning up and turning in donations)
-
helping to lead a walk or hike
-
other duties that may be assigned for
certain groups-- being First Aid qualified
in strongly encouraged, as you will be
with the group if they are out on activities.
